    Anthony L. Lee, Artist

Anthony L. Lee is a Detroit-based Muralist, illustrator & curator from Sterling Heights & Troy, Michigan. Lee has spent the last 9 years painting over 200 murals in Michigan and abroad for a variety of local businesses, nonprofits, restaurants and schools. Lee really enjoys the feeling of drawing shapes and blending colors on a large scale, and the satisfaction of watching an empty environment activate into a more enjoyable/memorable space. Whether Lee is making his own original artwork or helping a business transform their environment - the problem solving aspect of designing and producing a space that is also a work of art is really rewarding. A lot of Lee’s inspirations, especially his personal work, come from vintage signage, graffiti, Heavy Metal magazine, science fiction, book illustrations, Chinese ink paintings, and of course nature in all its authentic beauty. Lee’s work has been seen at the Venice Biennial, The 2014 Redbull House of Art Residency, and the 2017 Murals in The Market Festival. Lee has also been featured on Fox 2 News, Local 4 news, and published in Insight Magazine, There Magazine, The Metro Times, & The Detroit Free Press.
